The AUS HEARTS team was delighted to be involved in Flowing Strong: Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Hypertension Summit held at UniSA on Kaurna Country (Adelaide) on Thursday 4 December. Supported by the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance (ACvA) and facilitated and led by Dr Andrew Goodman (CSIRO), the Summit brought together Indigenous health sector and community representatives from across the country to explore approaches to prevent, detect and effectively treat hypertension in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Dr Niamh Chapman gave a presentation on the practical, evidence-based and flexible approach of AUS HEARTS, how it has improved hypertension outcomes globally, and plans for Indigenous-led adaptation in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

AUS HEARTS was delighted to partner with ACvA support three health practitioners from the Far West NSW region to attend through funding for local capacity-building activities.
