The AUS HEARTS National Consensus Workshop is set to occur on the 27th of November 2026 in Sydney.
The AUS HEARTS project aims to adapt the World Health Organisation HEARTS technical package for implementation in rural Australian primary care settings. As part of this project, a quality improvement package will be developed to support implementation of the new Australian elevated blood pressure and hypertension guideline (due for release late 2026) and best-practice hypertension management in rural communities.
The aim of this workshop is to bring together primary health networks, clinicians, policymakers and national stakeholders to achieve consensus on a quality improvement package. The package will include a core set of hypertension quality indicators, associated benchmarks and implementation considerations that can support systematic improvement in blood pressure control and cardiovascular disease prevention.
Outputs from the Workshop will inform the final AUS HEARTS quality improvement package and future implementation activities aimed at improving hypertension outcomes across Australia.
If you would like to attend and contribute your expertise to this important national discussion, or if you would like more information please
