The new Australian elevated blood pressure and hypertension guidelines are out for public consultation.
The current guidelines have not been updated since 2016. The new guidelines will be an important tool in phase 2 of AUS HEARTS, aligning to the E; Evidence-based treatment.
This consultation process will hopefully result in new Australian elevated blood pressure and hypertension guidelines that can be used realistically by our rural health service.
We encourage all rural clinicians who provide blood pressure care to have their say, via the Heart Foundations website here: Public consultation: 2026 adult elevated blood pressure and hypertension guideline | Heart Foundation by the 12th of October.
